Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Material Handler I in Caledon, ON. You will perform warehouse tasks including loading, picking, packing, shipping and receiving, with forklift operation and cycle counting during the 5:00pm–3:30am shift from Tuesday to Friday.

Compensation includes $21/hour plus a $1/hour afternoon shift premium. Benefits after 30 days and a strong pension/retirement plan are offered within a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, cycle counting.
• Audit, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Provide technical/maintenance support for automated packing system during production shift.

Summary

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.

Wage: $21 per hour + $1.00 per hour afternoon shift premium

Job Type: Full-time, perm

Location: Caledon, ON

Shifts: Tuesday to Friday, 5:00pm to 3:30am

Essential Functions

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
• Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production

Additional Responsibilities

• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Some locations may require a Motor Vehicles Records (MVR) check as a part of the background screening process to drive a company vehicle as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
