Cold Storage Lift Truck Operator

Grade: 5

Training requirements: On the job training provided by a senior lift truck driver in cold storage until the employee is fully trained and competent in the duties.

Purpose

Responsible for Cold Storage forklift operations.

Safety requirements

• Consult your supervisor if unsure about hazards of equipment.
• Observe GMPs and work safely.
• Watch for pedestrian and forklift traffic.
• Use safety cage as required.
• Complete daily operator pre-checks.
• Wear PPE (shield and apron for batteries).

Job responsibilities

• Pick up and store pallets from production.
• Assist with breaks for other operators.
• Maintain cleanliness in assigned area.
• Follow GMPs.
• Report safety issues.
• Load trailers on sanitation days.
• Seek safety and operational improvements.
• Work with WMS.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Daily duties

• Drive lift and store pallets.
• Report damages or spills immediately.
• Complete HACCP documentation.
• Prevent product and equipment damage.

Compensation & Benefits
