Aerotek in Vaughan, ON is seeking an experienced Reach Truck and Order Picker Operator to join a busy warehouse. You will operate reach trucks and order pickers, perform material handling, and support shipping/receiving in a 2:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. shift, onsite.

The role requires 2+ years of forklift and equipment experience, proficiency with RF scanners, and the ability to lift 50+ pounds while adhering to safety standards in a fast-paced plumbing distribution facility.

Qualifications

Job Title: Reach Truck and Order Picker Operator

Job Description

This role involves safely operating reach trucks and order pickers in a busy plumbing distribution facility, performing material handling tasks, and supporting shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations. You spend most of your time on material handling equipment while also completing some physically demanding tasks that require regular lifting and manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Operate reach trucks and order pickers safely and efficiently in a busy distribution environment.
• Follow all safety standards and procedures at all times, including proper use of harnesses and other safety equipment.
• Use RF scanners to accurately pick, pack, and track inventory and orders.
• Perform shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Handle material movement throughout the warehouse, including organizing, staging, and replenishing stock.
• Complete general labor tasks such as packing, palletizing, and housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Operate warehouse forklifts and counterbalance equipment as required to support daily operations.
• Lift and move items weighing 50+ pounds on a regular basis while maintaining proper ergonomics.
• Collaborate with team members and follow supervisor direction to meet productivity and accuracy targets.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety rules, and operational procedures to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
• At least 2+ years of experience operating material handling equipment, specifically reach trucks and order pickers.
• At least 2+ years of warehouse forklift experience in a distribution or similar environment.
• Proficiency using RF scanners for picking, packing, shipping, and inventory-related tasks.
• Demonstrated experience in shipping and receiving, including loading, shipping, and receiving processes.
• Ability to perform material handling and general labor tasks in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
• Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing 50+ pounds on a regular basis.
• Experience operating counterbalance forklifts in warehouse operations.
• Strong attention to safety and adherence to established safety standards, including use of harnesses and other protective equipment.
• Reliable work ethic with the ability to work the Monday-Friday 2:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. shift.

This role is based in a busy plumbing distribution warehouse where you primarily operate reach trucks, order pickers, and other forklifts. You work on-site Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in a fast-paced environment that requires regular lifting of 50+ pounds and frequent use of RF scanners and other warehouse technology. The facility emphasizes strict adherence to safety standards, including wearing a harness and appropriate protective equipment while on material handling equipment. You work indoors in a warehouse setting with designated areas for shipping, receiving, and storage, and you have access to an on-site gym for use before or after your shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vaughan, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.47 - $22.47/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
