Job summary

Apex Aluminum Extrusions in Langley, BC is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our Packaging team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role handles aluminum logs 20-25 ft long and up to 1000 lbs, using a forklift and pallet jack, with a 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM shift, Monday through Thursday, in a facility with a strong safety culture and benefits.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of forklift experience, familiarity with Hyster equipment, a reliable team player attitude, and good

Qualifications

• Forklift experience on a production floor (minimum 1 year).
• Experience driving Hyster or similar equipment preferred.
• Warehouse distribution exposure.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and pallet jack to move heavy loads safely.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily.
• Ensure quality meets company standards and assist in loading/unloading.
• Follow safe work methods and assist in other plant areas as needed.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Forklift Operator to join our Packaging team in Langley, BC. This is a full-time, permanent position, with an excellent benefits package, and room for growth.

Shift Schedule: 5:30 PM - 4:00 AM, Monday - Thursday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Using a forklift and/or pallet jack to safely and efficiently move and lift aluminum logs that are 20-25 ft long and around 1000 lbs. in weight, as well as other heavy material loads.
• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
• On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment (i.e., adding hydraulic fluid if necessary)
• Ensure job quality meets company standards and customer requirements.
• Assist in other parts of the plant including loading/unloading as required.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Knowledge/Experience and Skills:

• Forklift experience (minimum 1 year production floor experience required).
• Previous experience in driving Hyster and other similar equipment (preferred).
• Warehouse distribution experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
