Come Grow with Us! Forsite is actively looking for a Forest Technician with a general understanding and experience with Alberta forestry practices, based out of our Edmonton, Alberta location.

What You Will Do

Under the direction of the Manager - Alberta, the Forest Technician is responsible for forest inventory plots, forest development activities including reconnaissance road centerline and cutblock boundaries, ecological and riparian assessments, and completing all deliverables in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and professional manner.

Qualifications And Competencies
  • A safety-conscious attitude;
  • Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline;
  • General understanding and experience with forest operations and forestry practices in Alberta;
  • Valid driver’s license for 5 years and a clean driving record;
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions;
  • Able to work both independently under limited supervision and in a dynamic team environment;
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills; and,
  • Registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals is preferred.
