Job Description

PRT is currently recruiting seasonal Forest Nursery Workers to assist with the many different aspects of nursery responsibilities at our PRT Summerland Nursery in Summerland, BC. Most work is done in the outdoors with duties like sowing, thinning, and transplanting of tree seedlings for reforestation across North America.

This engaging, high paced, physical position offers a safe work environment and an opportunity for a career that will make a positive change in the world. Candidates should have a desire and keenness to learn about the forest seedling nursery activities, work independently and efficiently. No experience required; full training provided.

You'll work as part of a supportive team, under the guidance of a Nursery Manager and Operations Manager.

Your Main Duties Will Involve

  • 8am to 4pm shift 8-10 weeks.
  • Lifting and moving tree seedlings outdoors.
  • Learning about forest nursery activities.
  • Working independently and efficiently.
  • Committing to quality and safety in a safe work environment.

Required/Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Reliable transportation
  • Appropriate work attire
  • Good manual dexterity and eyesight
  • Team-oriented personality with a positive attitude
  • Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time and perform repetitive tasks

Additional Information

Compensation: $19.57/hour, transitioning to piece work with the opportunity to generate a greater earning potential.
