The position is based out of Clearwater with long shifts and seasonal weather exposure. A valid driver’s license and reliable transport are essential. Competitive hourly wage offered with benefits after 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate forestry equipment to harvest and move timber in remote terrain.
• Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and checks on machines.
• Navigate steep slopes and difficult terrain while maintaining targets.
• Follow safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
• Work in all weather conditions; communicate with crew.
• Record issues, work completed and safety concerns.
• Support loading, sorting, and site cleanup as needed.

Terms of Employment: Full-time, permanent employment with a probationary period. Work is based out of remote forestry operations near Clearwater, BC, with long shifts and seasonal weather exposure.

Wage: $40 – $42 / hour

Benefits Package: Competitive hourly wage, overtime as available, and a practical field-based work environment with a supportive team. Benefits include statutory entitlements, medical, dental and other employer-provided coverage after 3 months.

Job Duties

• Operate specialized forestry equipment to safely harvest and move timber in remote mountain terrain.
• Perform daily inspections, basic maintenance, and equipment checks to keep machines in safe working order.
• Navigate steep slopes, uneven ground, and difficult terrain while maintaining production targets.
• Follow company safety procedures, site rules, and environmental guidelines at all times.
• Work productively in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, mud, and cold temperatures.
• Communicate with supervisors and crew members to coordinate machine movements and work sequence.
• Commercial thinning on steep slopes
• Record equipment issues, work completed, and any safety or operational concerns during the shift.
• Support loading, sorting, and site clean-up activities as required to keep the work area organized.

Job Requirements

• Min 2 year experience operating logging or heavy equipment in forestry and logging using forwarder/harvester machines.
• Ability to work long days, lift as required, and handle physically demanding outdoor work.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation to and from the Clearwater area.
• Comfortable working around specialized machinery and performing routine checks and minor troubleshooting.
• Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and commitment to safe operation in rugged terrain.
• Willingness to work as part of a close-knit crew in a remote setting with limited services nearby.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to changing mountain and forest conditions.
