Job summary

Ledcor is seeking an experienced Carpenter leader to supervise a crew on an industrial expansion project in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. You will manage carpenters, concrete finishers and labourers, coordinate with the client, and uphold Ledcor safety and quality standards.

Candidates should be a Journeyperson Carpenter with at least 3 years of supervisory experience, a solid formwork background, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial construction environment preferred.
  • Journeyperson Carpenter with strong carpentry and concrete formwork background.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a crew of carpenters, concrete finishers / masons and labourers.
  • Interface with the client and other contractors on site.
  • Ensure site safety by maintaining a hazard-free environment and enforcing compliance with Ledcor’s standards.
  • Coordinate work activities with the client, contractors, and other forepersons to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Plan and manage resources, equipment, and labour to keep operations efficient.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Monitor project schedules to meet deadlines and normal working hours.
  • Resolve on-site challenges and manage work sequencing.

Essential Responsibilities


  • Lead and supervise a crew of carpenters, concrete finishers / masons and labourers

  • Interface with the client and other contractors on site

  • Ensure site safety by maintaining a hazard-free environment and enforcing compliance with Ledcor’s health, safety, and environmental standards

  • Coordinate work activities with the client, contractors, and other forepersons to ensure smooth project execution

  • Plan and manage resources, equipment, and labour to keep operations efficient

  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately

  • Monitor project schedules to ensure work is completed within regular hours and meets deadlines

  • Resolve on-site challenges and proactively manage work sequencing


Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial construction environment preferred

  • Journeyperson Carpenter

  • Strong carpentry and concrete formwork background with knowledge of industrial construction and related trades

  • Valid driver's license and clean abstract required


Work Conditions


  • Work schedule: 10 days on, and 4 days off plus statutory holidays off

  • Extended health benefits provided by CLAC

  • Location - Fort Saskatchewan AB

  • Weekly payment of wages

  • No camp or travel allowances provided. Would suit candidates residing in the Greater Edmonton region
