Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Journeyperson Carpenter to support the Edmonton LRT expansion. You will perform layout, formwork, material planning and ensure accuracy while emphasizing safety and quality on site.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, selecting materials, building with traditional and engineered formwork, and ensuring forms are level and properly sized to meet deadlines within a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Provincially recognized journeyperson certification in Carpentry.
  • Non-certified journeypersons must hold a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience on major infrastructure and bridge projects is required.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean 3-year abstract.
  • Safety trainings CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, ESC Fall Protection, Confined Space and Elevated Work Platform provided.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings to prepare layouts, select materials, plan sequences and mark materials.
  • Understand concrete forming and engineered forming systems for accurate forms.
  • Work with traditional, PERI, Aluma and EFCO formwork.
  • Check forms for level, square, plumb, size, and location.
  • Complete tasks safely and efficiently, meeting project deadlines.

Education, Experience and Requirements

Working Conditions
  • Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day with potential overtime required over the summer months on the weekend
  • Work in all weather conditions year-round and willing to lend a hand where needed
  • Comprehensive benefits package provided by CLAC, including extended health, dental, and prescription drug coverage
  • Candidates must reside in the Greater Edmonton Region
