Job summary

EFI Global seeks an experienced engineer to provide investigating engineering services related to events, systems, devices, and failures, and to offer expert opinions. The role involves loss-site surveys, failure investigations, and producing detailed reports for insurers and litigation support.

Responsibilities include collaborating with a national team, serving as an expert witness, and maintaining billable hours. A PE license and strong communication are required; travel 30–40% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of the posted position.

Responsibilities

• Survey losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings.
• Conduct investigations to determine and document the scope of damage.
• Investigate and assess damages due to failures and determine origin of failure.
• Analyze and document the failure analysis and causation of failures.
• Collaborate with investigators to produce reports outlining cause and origin of losses.
• Serve as an expert witness in court or depositions.
• Document and maintain billable hours for forensic projects.
• Collaborate with EFI Global’s national team of forensic experts on projects.
• Follow industry-accepted methodology for services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, subcontractors and prospects.
• Engage in local marketing and sales activities.
