Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Independently and in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Leader, the Forensic Nurse Examiner provides comprehensive forensic nursing and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services to patients.

Travel is required for this position, and transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN or RPN registrant. Two (2) years of recent nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Eligible for completion of a recognized Sexual Assault/Forensic Nurse Examiner program and any required course prerequisites. Valid BC Driver's License.
