Job summary

Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join the Forensic Transitional Unit (FTU). You will provide specialized care to patients with complex mental illnesses within a recovery-focused model of care and collaborate as an active member of the interprofessional team.

Posting notes that the FTU is part of a larger Forensic Program with secure and outpatient services.

Qualifications

• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills are required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated knowledge of nursing standards and privacy acts.
• Experience with psychiatric-mental health care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to patients with complex mental illnesses.

• Work in the Forensic Program across units and services.
• Document care needs, administer medications, and implement recovery-based care.
