Job summary

Zekelman Industries in Harrow, Ontario, is seeking a Production Foreman to coordinate labor, supervise staff, and ensure safe, efficient plant operations. You will enforce safety, develop schedules, train workers, and drive continuous improvement across departments.

You will review daily reports, monitor inventory, and collaborate with Quality and Maintenance to meet production goals while guiding a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with emphasis on management/supervision.
• Minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing/warehouse.
• Proficiency with MES/SAP and Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Leads and promotes safe work practices as required by policy and regulators.
• Develops work schedules to achieve production goals.
• Delegates tasks and provides training and evaluations.
• Monitors inventory and conducts cycle counts for accuracy.
• Generates daily operation reports and addresses issues.
• Communicates maintenance needs and supports quality standards.
• Participates in safety improvements and coaches staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Enforces appropriate safety procedures. Collaborates with Quality, Maintenance and other Departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a positive work environment and meet production goals.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESLeads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.Performs quality checks on sites and equipment to ensure customer and quality standards are met.Develops work schedules for workers to achieve production goals.Delegates responsibilities to team members.Provides training, cross-training, performs evaluations, reviews, and initiates disciplinary actions.Monitors and supervises cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory (Warehouse or Inventory).Generates and reviews daily operation reports to ensure shift continuity and determine appropriate course of actions for any issues.Identifies, communicates, and escalates maintenance items.Collaborates with the Quality Department to develop and oversee quality standards on site.Develops and implements action plans to improve and attain plant objectives to enhance efficiencies.Documents injuries, makes recommendations and follows up with corrective actions to prioritize safety.Hires, coaches, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff. Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval.Performs other duties as they might be assigned.Regular, full-time predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this roleEDUCATION / EXPERIENCEAssociate degree with an emphasis on management / supervision3+ year supervisory experience in a manufacturing / warehouse environmentKNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIESWorking knowledge of shop floor interfaces, such as MES and SAP or other based platformsBasic proficiency in Microsoft office package, including Outlook, Word, and ExcelStrong decision making, problem solving, and conflict resolution skillsStrong communication and leadershipTime management skillsAbility to influence productive working relations and team buildingCompensation: $30.95-$38.13/hour + production incentiveZekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
