Foreman – Sewer & Water Construction • Whitehorse, Yukon

We are recruiting for the 2025 season (May through October). Camp, hotel or housing accommodations will be provided unless you prefer to secure your own private accommodation for the season. LOA based on accommodations.

Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent, the Foreman is responsible for the daily performance of work at the project site, the assignment of work to the crew(s), and monitoring progress to ensure quality work is performed safely, efficiently, and on time. Depending on project assignment, the Foreman may be supervisory or hands-on (e.g., Pipelayer, Topman, or Heavy Equipment Operator).

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to execute jobsite activities that conform to high quality and safety standards.
  • Supervise, motivate, inspect, observe, and delegate tasks to workers.
  • Resolve problems as they arise and report progress to Superintendents and management.
  • Assist the superintendent with organizing and coordinating daily activities of all crew members, sub-contractors and equipment.
  • Lead, mentor and motivate crew members while demonstrating team values and work ethic.
  • Ensure all applicable safety and environmental regulations are adhered to throughout the construction process.
Requirements
  • 3 years of Supervisor / Foreman experience in civil / infrastructure construction, preferably in sewer, water and earthworks.
  • Prior experience as a Labourer, Pipelayer or Heavy Equipment Operator in sewer, water and earthworks projects is an asset.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English, with the ability to provide clear direction to crew members, especially regarding safety and work tasks.
  • Proven leader capable of engaging and motivating a team to deliver consistent results.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
