We have been in business since 1984 without interruptions or major layoffs.

Some of our notable projects include the Shangri-La hotel in downtown Vancouver, Aldergrove Recreation Centre, IKEA Coquitlam, Jim Pattison Outpatient Hospital, Langley Events Centre, Canada Post facility in Richmond, Lynn Valley Residence in North Vancouver, Sutter Brook Village Community in Port Moody, Surrey Central Brewing, Tsawwassen Shores, River Green Community, and more. Chances are you've seen many of our residential high-rise buildings, and perhaps even live in one.

The Position

We are looking for hardworking and passionate individuals to join the Nightingale Family. As a Foreman Electrician, you will be responsible for a variety of electrical duties including planning, assembling, installing, testing, training/coaching apprentices, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools. Our work mainly involves wood frame apartment buildings, townhomes, high-rise concrete buildings, and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Journeymen Electricians and Apprentices to meet project objectives.
  • Install conduit and boxes for slabs, electrical boxes, pot lights, perform rough wiring in units and corridors, install lights, troubleshoot, etc.
  • Assist in solving various electrical system issues.
  • Perform electrical wiring tasks using schematics, diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications.
  • Follow procedures for installing and maintaining electrical systems in accordance with City, Provincial bylaws, and Canadian Electrical Codes.
  • Ensure safety by following WorkSafe and company procedures.
  • Lead, organize, and coach a crew to install equipment as per electrical drawings and instructions, adhering to electrical and safety codes.

Qualifications

  • Electrical Red Seal Certificate or equivalent Trade Qualification.
  • Reliable transportation to various job sites within the Lower Mainland or North Shore.
  • Experience in wood frame structures, high-rise concrete buildings, and commercial projects.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; experience managing apprentices.
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Working Conditions

  • Work may be indoors or outdoors, exposed to weather conditions such as rain, cold, or heat.
  • Tasks may include repetitive motions like splicing, wiring, drilling, installing fixtures, climbing ladders, etc.
  • Physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy objects, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Working at heights on ladders, scissor lifts, or boom lifts.
  • Potential hazards in construction zones, including exposed elements, clutter, and uneven floors.
  • Locations across the Lower Mainland.
  • Transportation to and from job sites is the responsibility of the employee.
