Job summary

Brandt Tractor Ltd in Regina is seeking a Foreman to oversee daily organization and dispatch of technicians at the construction and forestry location.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be a certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade.
  • Experience in a service department and heavy equipment environment is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and basic Microsoft Office abilities required.
  • Willingness to be available after-hours and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with John Deere products is a plus; forklift license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize the work and ensure quality control across the team.
  • Supervise the service technicians and mentor them as needed.
  • Maintain an organized, clean work environment in the shop.
  • Advise and mentor technicians on best practices and training needs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, the service team and branch personnel.
  • Establish and maintain an on-call field schedule.
  • Open/close work orders and prepare warranty related paperwork.
  • Monitor costs and overall profitability of the department.

Overview

Brandt Tractor Ltd is currently seeking a Foreman reporting to our Regina Construction and Forestry location. The successful applicant for this position will be responsible for the daily organization and dispatch of technicians, providing quality repair work for the Campbell River service Department, advising and making recommendations to the Service Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Responsible for the organization of the work performed and quality control
  • Supervise the work of service technicians
  • Maintain an organized, clean work environment
  • Advise and mentor technicians
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and other branch personnel
  • Establish & maintain an on-call field schedule
  • Converse with the customers and operators on the phone, email, or in person
  • Manage costs and ensure profitability of the department
  • Opening and closing work orders, preparing work orders for warranty
  • Other duties as required
What We Look For

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset
  • Certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade required
  • Experience in a service department setting required
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products preferred
  • Forklift license preferred
