Position Overview

We are seeking skilled and compassionate nurses to provide specialized foot care services to residents in Long Term Care facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing, particularly in medical foot care, and a strong commitment to patient education and comfort. You will collaborate with a supportive, multidisciplinary clinic team to ensure each patient receives the best possible care tailored to their individual needs. Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain a consistent and predictable treatment schedule
  2. Provide a list of treated residents for billing purposes. Individual statements for residents' tax claims will be an added bonus
  3. Perform comprehensive foot assessments for clients with various health conditions and foot-related concerns
  4. Provide medical foot care services such as general foot care, nail trimming and filing, diabetic foot care, non-surgical ingrown toenail removal, thick nail reduction, corn removal, and callus reduction
  5. Educate patients and their families on proper foot hygiene and best routine care practices
  6. Develop personalized patient care plans in collaboration with the clinic team
  7. Monitor and document changes in clients’ foot health using electronic charting on Point Click Care (PCC)
  8. Develop rapport with patients and ensure positive patient experiences
  9. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to infection control protocols
  10. Conduct treatments in residents' rooms to ensure privacy
  11. Work effectively with residents who may have cognitive decline or challenges in understanding
Qualifications
  1. Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  2. Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care Certification is required
  3. Prior experience in foot care is an asset
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  5. Valid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  6. Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
  7. Ability to work independently and within a team
  8. Computer knowledge and ability to learn proprietary software; proficiency in Microsoft Word preferred
Requirements
  1. Valid Ontario Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  2. Clear and current CNO registration
  3. RNAO or RPNAO liability insurance maintained
  4. Preferably, candidates will have their own equipment/tools
  5. Clear Vulnerable Sector check within 6 months
  6. TB test within validity period (usually within 12 months)
  7. Other immunizations as required by the facility
  8. Minimum two professional references
