Food Services Supervisor - Kemptville, ON

Position: Food Services Supervisor, full-time between two of our homes.

Location: Bayfield Retirement Home and Southbridge Kemptville Long-term care, Kemptville, ON

Southbridge Care Homes owns and operates several long-term care and retirement homes throughout many urban and rural areas across Ontario.

This is a split role between two of our homes. As a Food Service Supervisor, this role will support our Food Service Manager at our Southbridge Kemptville Long-Term Care Home. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Food Services at our Bayfield Retirement home. Both locations are in walking distance from one another.

The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and passion for senior care by delivering high-quality leadership support to our homes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide amazing dietary services to the residents of the home by planning, organizing and executing the tasks in the proper timely manner.
  2. Maintain proper quality standards by examining dietary requirements, food production operations ensuring excellent services provided as per the legislative requirements.
  3. Encourage teamwork, and assist in collaborating team operations by motivating, encouraging and training coworkers and staff.
  4. Handle audit of the kitchen standards ensuring meeting public health requirements.
  5. Maintain proper records of the inventory, menu management ensuring meeting policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  6. Build and maintain rapport with residents, families, staff and other stakeholders to regulate workplace operations smoothly.
  7. Assist management by contributing to preparing budget including departmental budget.
  8. Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Post-secondary education and the successful completion of a recognized Food Services and Nutrition Management or relevant program required.
  2. Two or more years of Dietary Management in long-term care setting required.
  3. Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or a Registered Dietician is required.
  4. Nice to have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  5. Nice to have strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  6. Strong leadership experience and skills preferred but not mandatory.
  7. Bilingualism – English and French are considered as an asset.
