Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a Food Services Technical diploma with relevant experience.
  • Advanced Food Safety training and WHMIS required.
  • Minimum of two years of food services management experience is an asset.
  • Experience in institutional or healthcare food service and unionized settings is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
  • Strong organization and time management skills in fast-paced settings.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, quality improvement, or project work is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding with departmental supervisors.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Business Development, Clinical Nutrition, and Food Services, the Administrative Food Service Supervisor coordinates recruitment, completes departmental administrative tasks, and supports quality improvement initiatives across the Food Services department. Recruitment is a significant focus of the role, including screening applications against established criteria, coordinating and participating in interviews, and arranging onboarding with departmental supervisors, including the scheduler.


The Administrative Supervisor supports departmental quality improvement initiatives and projects under the direction of management. Responsibilities may include conducting audits, collecting and analyzing data, supporting implementation activities, coordinating follow-up on action plans, and monitoring progress to promote operational effectiveness and sustained improvements.


As operationally required, the Administrative Supervisor fills operational supervisor shifts and directly supervises staff represented by multiple unions in a fast-paced environment. The position provides staff direction and coaching, addresses day-to-day staffing and service concerns, and oversees safe, efficient service delivery and compliance with established food safety and service procedures in both a retail and patient food services environment.


Your Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a Food Services Technical diploma (with relevant experience) is required.

  • Advanced Food Safety training & WHMIS are required.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of food services management experience is an asset.

  • Previous experience in institutional or healthcare food service and unionized settings is preferred.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.

  • Strong organization and time management skills in fast-paced settings.

  • Sound judgment and effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, quality improvement, or project work is considered an asset.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Competencies in other languages are considered an asset.
