Description: The Food Services Cashier portions, packages, serves food items, and processes payments according to menu, diet protocol, portion control and temperature standards within an acute care setting. The position may also be responsible for cleaning equipment, supplies and surfaces throughout the kitchen. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.
Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.Must display excellent communication and selling skills.Must demonstrate the ability to do math calculations.Must display excellent public relations and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Displays superior composure, tact and a pleasant disposition to patrons at all times.Possess high standards of accuracy.Must have high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.Must be honest and reliable.
Preferred Qualifications:WHMIS.Food Safe.Previous food services and cashier experience in an institutional setting.Proficiency in computer applications; word processing, spread sheets and database.Related experience in an institutional setting is an asset.
