We are currently seeking Part-Time and Casual Food Service Assistants to join our team. If you are interested in working with highly skilled healthcare professionals committed to making a difference, we want to hear from you!

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Work collaboratively with other team members; deal tactfully and courteously with residents, families, visitors, and all health team members.
  • Promote a positive team spirit within the department and residence.
  • Enjoy working with the elderly.
  • Prepare documentation as required according to residence policy.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, safety rules, and safe work practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the department. Comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
  • Prepare and serve meals, including re-therming, texture modifications, thickening, and service of beverages, breakfast items, vegetables, nourishment items, salads, desserts, and catering.
  • Serve meals and beverages to promote a fine dining/nourishment experience, following residents' diets, texture modifications, and food preferences, using proper portion sizes.
  • Receive and store incoming food and supplies, monitor quality, and advise supervisors of issues.
  • Report food supply and equipment needs to the supervisor and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Set, clean, and sanitize dining tables.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, bowls, pots, etc., checking temperatures and chemicals.

Requirements :

  • Must be able to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Experience in quantity food production and service.
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate.
  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
  • Reliable, conscientious, neat, and courteous.
  • Flexible and able to meet deadlines.
