Be a part of the Canada Games! Lighthouse Hospitality, provided by Aramark, is hiring temporary Lead food service workers (Lead Hand) to help provide food services to athletes staying in the athlete’s village.
Lead Hands report directly to the Residence Dining Manager on duty. Lead Hands are responsible and accountable for ensuring the timely and efficient operation of the work area/location with responsibility for the immediate work area and staff. The Lead Hand will act as a lead worker at all times and duties will include coaching and training staff, monitoring attendance and breaks, reporting and dealing with quality or service issues, delegating tasks and day to day supervision and leadership to employees in their work area/location.
This position will be primarily assigned to carry out the duties of Lead Hand and work will involve responsibility for ensuring that all Aramark policies and procedures, as well as local and provincial legislative standards are followed at all times in the work area. The Lead Hand will be accountable for opening/closing duties, ensuring equipment is turned on/off as appropriate, and cash control, storage practices, assisting with ordering and inventory related duties is required, ensuring all food is out/put away properly to reduce unnecessary waste and other duties as required. Daily activities are performed relatively independently and occasionally the Lead Hand may be required to work on their own. The Lead Hand must ensure that the Manager on duty is kept informed regarding any issues or concerns in a timely manner. This may include, but is not limited to, stepping in to deal with line-ups as needed, problem solving, and dealing with (or escalating if necessary) customer complaints or service issues as they arise. All Lead Hands are expected to set a good example of reliability, punctuality, attendance, and grooming and maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
This is a temporary position for the Canada Games. Applicants need to be available for mandatory orientation on July 31st, 9am - 5pm and a variety of shifts (early morning, day time, evening, late night and weekends) as required fom August 8th to August 25th.

Food Service Experience preferred
Requires frequent lifting/transporting hot food items
Ability to work inside kitchen area, interact with heated equipment, steam, loud noise, chemicals and other at risk conditions
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
