A healthcare organization in Duncan, British Columbia is seeking a diligent individual to assist in meal preparation for patients and staff. The role requires effective communication and physical stamina to carry out various cooking and cleaning tasks. Candidates must have at least a Grade 10 education and some related experience. This position is vital to ensuring dietary accuracy and quality service in a healthcare setting.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the direction of the Cook or Food Service Supervisor, plates meals for patients/residents and staff, washes and scrubs pots, pans and related dish washing duties; prepares and portions therapeutic diet items including nourishment's; measures and combines food and beverage ingredients by methods such as grinding, blending, slicing, dicing and/or puree; and checks patient/residents meals to ensure dietary accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperienceGrade 10 plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
