The salary range for this position is CAD $24.34 - $24.34 per hour.

Job Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Relief Part Time - Food Service Worker I to join our team at Ridge Meadows Hospital located in Maple Ridge, B.C. This position is available until December 31, 2025, or until the return of the incumbent. Detailed Overview

Under the supervision of the Manager, Food & Nutrition Services or designate, performs tasks related to the preparation, portioning, assembly, transportation, and delivery of foods; performs related cleaning duties; works from oral and written instructions according to established policies and procedures; works in accordance with departmental standards including sanitation and safety practices; and participates in the department's Quality Improvement Program.

Responsibilities
  • Assembles patient/resident meal trays according to menus; serves meals to ECU residents in the dining room.
  • Assembles and/or portions salads, sandwiches, beverages, desserts, and miscellaneous items according to standards.
  • Loads, delivers, collects, and unloads meal service carts; clears and cleans dining room tables in ECUs.
  • Makes beverages and food items such as coffee, tea, and toast; portions foods for patients and residents.
  • Washes, peels, and stores vegetables and fruit.
  • Washes dishes, pots, pans, and utensils; operates and cleans dishwashers; cleans waste disposers and surrounding areas.
  • Delivers and retrieves food, supplies, and equipment; assembles, portions, labels, and delivers nourishments or other items.
  • Performs cleaning duties; follows HACCP protocols and records temperatures as required.
  • Participates in departmental meetings, activities, and in-service sessions.
  • Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, filing, and checking cards against lists.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

Grade 10 or equivalent; current Food Safe Level I certificate.
