The Government of Nova Scotia seeks a Food Service Worker for the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education. The role involves assisting in food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining food safety standards in a schools' environment. The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education (TCRCE) encompasses the three (3) Counties of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby serving approximately 6100 students in twenty-two (22) schools, composed of 13Elementary Schools, 6 High Schools, 1 Middle School, and 2 Elementary/High Schools.

Position: Food Service Worker
Reports to: Program Lead, School Food
The Food Service Worker (FSW), under the direction of the Lead Food Service Worker, the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education School Lunch Program Lead and school administrator, will demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills. They are responsible for assisting in the preparation of food items, serving food to students, staff, and guests, performing cashier duties (where and when required), serving customers swiftly, efficiently, and with dignity, and adhering to all food safety standards and the Food and Nutrition Policy for Nova Scotia Public Schools.
The FSW performs optimally in a dynamic, high-pressure, fast-paced environment. They will have daily interactions with individuals from various backgrounds, maintaining a friendly and positive attitude while ensuring confidentiality. The FSW will be committed to creating a healthy food environment by promoting healthy eating, food equity, and a safe and welcoming space. Consistent attendance in current and previous positions is expected.
