Job description

ASIAN BUFFET is seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations in our all you can eat Asian cuisine restaurant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and staff performance, while ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently and in compliance with food safety regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and helpers.
  • Oversee food preparation, portioning, cooking, and presentation of dishes to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order food and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
  • Develop work schedules and assign duties to kitchen staff.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Train new staff and provide ongoing coaching to ensure optimal performance.
  • In charge of administrative duties such as daily logs, staff records, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with management to plan and update menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and traditional Asian recipes.
  • Handle customer feedback related to food quality and kitchen service when required.

Job Requirements :

  • Completed high school or college diploma.
  • Strong knowledge of dining restaurant kitchen operations.
  • Solid experience and competency in administrative routines is mandatory.
  • Proven experience and knowledge of Asian cuisine, including preparation techniques and traditional dishes.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Terms of Employment

  • Full-Time, permanent
  • 40 hours per week
  • 35.50 per hour (based on experience)
  • 2 weeks paid annual vacation
