In this role you will:

  • Provide courteous, friendly, customer service to patrons
  • Serve and prepare food and beverages for customers; set up retail food service area as needed
  • Handle cash transactions and reconcile cash deposits as assigned
  • Follow established standards of food and beverage preparation, assembly and merchandising
  • Maintain established sanitation and safety standards on all equipment and service areas
  • Ensure safe operation, maintenance and cleanliness of all other related equipment
  • Inform patrons about menu items, specials, events, and products or services
  • Maintain a clean work area while following proper food handling and sanitation procedures including HACCP
  • Demonstrate MSH’s core expectations of employee conduct; includes attending relevant continuing education sessions, following all Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures, complying with applicable Health and Safety standards and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Mandatory

  • Successful completion of high school diploma
  • 1 year of recent customer service experience
  • 1 year of recent experience with demonstrated cash handling abilities
  • Successful completion of the Food Handlers course and WHIMIS required during probationary period (training will be provided by Mount Sinai Hospital)

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a food service or event setting, such as catering, bartending, or table service

Note: This position requires the ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the position which requires bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods of time as required.
