Qualifications

Southbridge Care Homes owns and operates several long-term care and retirement homes throughout Ontario.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Food Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all Food & Dietary Services to meet residents' nutritional needs, ensuring effective food preparation and delivery.

Responsibilities

  1. Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality dietary services for residents.
  2. Apply quality improvement principles and best practices to workflow, performance, and service standards.
  3. Supervise, motivate, and lead dietary staff, fostering teamwork and productivity.
  4. Ensure food preparation and storage areas comply with Public Health standards.
  5. Maintain records following policies, including menus and dietary documentation.
  6. Collaborate with residents, families, staff, and external professionals regarding care and departmental activities.
  7. Participate in budgeting and manage food costs and departmental expenses.

Qualifications

  • Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutritional Management (C.S.N.M.) or Registered Dietitian credential required.
  • Post-secondary education in dietary management and completion of a recognized Food Services Program.
  • At least 2 years of dietary management experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Membership in a recognized Food Service Supervisor’s Association.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience managing unionized employees.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Customer service orientation and ability to build relationships.
