Overview

Aramark is a world leader in the provision of award-winning food services, and we are hiring a Food Service Manager to support our culinary operations in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. We are looking for a candidate with a strong passion for the industry, as well as the know how to build, direct, and manage a team.

Successful applicants will be skilled in organization, professionalism, and giving direction. This position involves the supervision of staff, helping to plan, organize and direct all aspects of the food service operations on a day-to-day basis within a corporate environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day food service operation, delegate tasks, motivate and coach staff
  • Oversee the flow of day-to-day operations on the floor and address operational and staffing concerns
  • Manage and direct food production planning, waste management, record keeping, and follow up
  • Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are followed
  • Proactively manage food and labor cost controls
  • Recruitment, training, and orientation of staff
  • Responsible for staff scheduling and filling shifts as needed
  • Responsible for supervising cash handling procedures such as balancing cash float, safe, and deposits
  • Other duties as assigned by management from time to time
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2-3 years management experience in a food service environment
  • Self-directed with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous culinary or production planning experience an asset
  • Strong organizational and team building skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate team members
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • Proven ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours is essential including evenings and weekends

The selected candidate for this position will need to complete and successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
