Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Food Service I in Ponoka for the Patient Food Services unit. The casual/relief role involves preparing, portioning and serving meals, along with cleaning and sanitizing food service areas and equipment.

Applicants should be able to lift up to 46 lbs, push/pull meal carts up to 250 lbs, and stand for long periods. Prior food service or hospital experience is preferred, with Grade 10 or equivalent required.

• Physically capable to lift food, supplies and equipment up to 46lbs and push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs.
• Walk and stand on feet for the duration of shift.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

Customer service experience. Food service experience. Experience in a hospital or long- term care environment. Experience with inventory management; receiving deliveries, managing expiry dates and minimizing waste while utilizing “First in- First Out” procedures. Experiencewith Industrial Food Service Equipment. Food Safe Certificate or equivalent. WHMIS training.
