Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Kitchen & Service Associate in Alberta to support food preparation, sanitation, cashiering, and guest service. You will follow recipes, ensure safety standards, and maintain cleanliness while working with a team to keep kitchen and service areas running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with hot and cold items following standardized recipes and station guidelines.
• Perform prep tasks such as measuring, portioning, chopping, and assembling ingredients.
• Ensure food is prepared and served at proper temperatures and meets quality standards.
• Maintain portion control and minimize food waste.
• Replenish food items and supplies during service as required.
• Follow HACCP, food safety, and QA procedures, including logs and records.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations before, during, and after service.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes; maintain sanitation areas.
• Operate a POS system; process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately.
• Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner and resolve inquiries.
• Represent Compass Group in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner.
• Complete required training programs within designated timelines.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Food Preparation & Kitchen Support (Primary Focus)

• Prepare and assist with the production of hot and cold food items including short order items, and grab-and-go products following standardized recipes and station guidelines
• Perform prep tasks such as measuring, portioning, chopping, and assembling ingredients
• Ensure food is prepared and served at proper temperatures and meets quality standards
• Maintain portion control and minimize food waste
• Replenish food items and supplies during service as required
• Follow all HACCP, food safety, and quality assurance procedures, including temperature logs and production records
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations before, during, and after service

Cleaning, Sanitation & Dishwashing (Core Responsibility)

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, pots, pans, and utensils in accordance with health and safety standards
• Maintain dishwashing areas, garbage stations, and kitchen spaces according to master cleaning schedules
• Remove garbage, recycling, and compost and dispose of waste safely
• Ensure all work areas, equipment, and smallwares are clean, sanitized, and organized at all times
• Assist with deep cleaning and ongoing sanitation of kitchen and service areas

Cashier & Customer Service

• Operate a POS system (cash register), processing cash, debit and credit transactions accurately
• Enter all items into the system to ensure accurate sales recording
• Provide receipts and ensure efficient, timely service
• Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner and resolve inquiries or concerns
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas, including restocking condiments and supplies

General Responsibilities

• Represent Compass Group in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner
• Follow all company policies, health & safety regulations, and quality assurance standards
• Complete required training programs within designated timelines
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen and service operations

About you:
