Job summary

SSP Canada is seeking a Food Service Attendant for Tim Horton's TB (YYZ). You will welcome guests, take orders, and handle payments in a fast-paced airport setting, while ensuring accuracy and great service.

Role requires excellent communication, basic math, and the ability to work with menus. Benefits begin after one year, and a meal plan is provided to staff.

Qualifications

• One year experience in food service is strongly preferred.
• Smart Serve certification is an asset.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Clear verbal and written English communication required.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand French is an asset.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and POS operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests courteously and prioritize guest experience.
• Follow recipes and maintain portion control.
• Set up and stock the kitchen/station daily with supplies.
• Process orders and enter them into the POS accurately.
• Receive payment and make change; handle cash responsibly.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper product rotation.

SSP Canada operates more than 30 restaurants throughout Toronto Pearson International Airport.The Food Service Associate plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer experiences by efficiently handling transactions, ensuring accurate cash management, serving clients and maintaining a welcoming dining atmosphere, all while upholding company standards and service excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Understand that our guest is our #1 priority.
• Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items.
• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning andstocking of all required food, paper products, and condiments.
• Process orders and enter them accurately into the POS system.
• Receive payment from the customer and process change.
• Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.

Skills and Other Requirements:

• One year experience working in food service environment is strongly preferred.
• Smart Serve certification as asset
• Previous experience working in a Tim Horton's is an asset
• High school diploma preferred
• Verbal and written communication is essential
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the French language is an asset
• Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, etc.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items
• Ability to operate a keyboard & point of sale procedures to pre-check an order & close out a check
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time
