Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Microbiology Technician to join our team in Canada. Prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products and environments, applying approved techniques in a regulated lab setting.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm, with responsibilities ranging from aseptic technique to daily maintenance and QA record-keeping. Travel is preferred and growth within a network of ISO-accredited labs is available.

Qualifications

• Two-year laboratory experience or an Associate degree in Life Science preferred.
• Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory.
• Ability to travel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
• Maintain media and reagents for daily microbiological testing.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
• Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.

Education

Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience

High School diploma or GED
