So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 35 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

About the Team:

Delivering more than 3M meals per month and growing 3x YoY, CookUnity is also helping improve the livelihood of working chefs, tripling their income and enabling the growth of their own teams and personal brands. And believing that healthy food fuels stronger communities.

The role:

We are looking for an energetic Food Safety Manager with experience in ready-to-eat meal production environments. The Food Safety Manager plays a key role in our kitchens, responsible for monitoring and verifying that food production adheres to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in regulatory inspection readiness, processes, and corrective actions
  • Monitor critical limits with daily checks of refrigeration, sanitation chemicals, dish machine operation, etc.
  • Review and verify records for cook-chill processes
  • Assist in developing and implementing food safety programs, including Chef audits, internal assessments, and training materials.
  • Train GMPs, sanitation, and safe food handling to employees and Chef teams
  • Promote a food safety culture within the organization
  • Identify and assess potential food safety risks in the production process
  • Monitor and inspect food production, handling, and storage areas for compliance with food safety standards as per applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring and shelf life testing.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or equivalent experience in a high compliance environment
  • Certified Food Safety Manager (e.g., ServSafe) or equivalent certification
  • Proven experience in food safety, quality control, or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
