Wentworth Hospitality Group (Tableau Bar Bistro, Homer St. Cafe & Bar, Maxine’s Cafe & Bar) is looking for servers for Folietta, their new Italian restaurant concept, located in Vancouver’s storied Nanaimo and Grant neighbourhood. Folietta is inspired by iconic Italian culinary regions and each dish reflects a passion for high-quality food.

Position Summary

Our team delivers friendly and efficient food and beverage service, in line with our next level guest experience standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Prepare dining room for guests by cleaning and setting tables.
  • Support wait staff by setting-up and replenishing condiments, trash container liners, and bus stations.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of glassware, silverware, and dishware.
  • Being familiar with the food offering and able to communicate top lines for each item.
  • Assist servers with food delivery as needed, using drop lines to entice guests.
  • Prepare coffee, tea, and ice water for customers.
  • Ensure table maintenance standards are met by removing courses; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to guest spills or other special needs.
  • Clean, sanitize, and reset tables after meals.
  • Keep floors and chairs near dining tables clean by routinely sweeping and mopping.
  • Close the dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables, removing trash and recyclables from the facility.
  • Proficient understanding of how to greet guests upon arrival, and how to seat if necessary. Understanding of the floorplan, table and seat numbers.
  • Protect establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
  • Be proactive and find new ways to improve systems and efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education : Valid BC Foodsafe Certification & BC Serving it Right Certification.
  • Experience : prior experience in a food-serving establishment.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, days, nights, and weekends.
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Ability to work varied hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with guests and employees.
  • Customer service focus and quality orientated.
