Job summary

Bento Sushi is hiring a Food Production Worker in Winnipeg, MB. You will join a team focused on making high-quality sushi and Bento products, while maintaining a clean, sanitary work environment.

The role requires handling raw ingredients, rice, cutting and packaging, and following strict food-safety standards. You should be comfortable in refrigerated spaces and flexible to work varied shifts, with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

• Performs repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy and pace.
• Able to work in refrigerated environments (10°C / 4°C / -18°C areas).
• Capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lb) when required.
• Willing to work varied shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi and other Bento products including rice, ingredients, rolling, cutting, sorting and packaging.
• Ensure all operations meet food safety and quality standards.
• Wash pots, pans and equipment; maintain a clean kitchen per schedule.
• Foster teamwork and a positive working environment to maximize morale and efficiency.

Location

• ManitobaFood Factory: 9-1393 Border St, Winnipeg, MB R3H 0N1 | Monday - Saturday, shifts available between 3:00 AM and 11:30 PM; Monday - Sunday, shifts available between 9:30 AM and 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities

As a Food Production Worker, you focus on creating quality sushi and other Bento products. You maintain a sanitary work environment by following a routine cleaning schedule of kitchen equipment. Lastly, you put the "team" in teammate by fostering an inclusive working environment by promoting teamwork and collaboration to maximize morale, productivity, and efficiency.

• Prepare sushi and other products including cooking rice, preparation of raw ingredients, sushi rolling, cutting, sorting, and packaging.
• Ensure all operating standards including food safety are adhered and final products meet quality standards.
• Wash all pots, pans, inserts, utensils, etc. and clean kitchen equipment when called upon and as per cleaning schedule.
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other teammates to foster and promote a working environment that maximizes morale, productivity, and efficiency.

• Able to work in a refrigerated, cold climate (10°C working climate, 4°C for walk in refrigerator and -18°C for walk in freezer)
• Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lb) where required and stand for extended periods
• Flexible to work various shifts and weekends
