Job Description:
The Food on the Move Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the "Food On The Move" program, ensuring proper procedures and health and safety standards are being followed.
The incumbent will work with volunteers to ensure that nutritious bagged lunches are packed and distributed to children at prescribed locations and in accordance with The Salvation Army mission, values, and standards.
General
Order and pickup supplies from approved dealers.
Prepare bagged lunches.
Deliver meals and interact with children at prescribed locations in conjunction with program requirements.
Be sure that all areas are cleaned, including the kitchen area and Mobile Feeding vehicle after each use.
Ensure that the Mobile Feeding vehicle is ready for use.
Collect and prepare daily and monthly statistics.
Communicate to the CFS Team Lead any human-interest stories or advertising opportunities
Program
• Support food preparation, packing of lunches and clean up.
• Provide direction and support volunteers.
• Provide daily set up and clean up.
• Deliver bagged lunches to prescribed locations.
Health and Safety
• Maintain safety practices in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Prepare, submit, and act on incident reports when required.
• Responsible to work in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
• Assist in the orientation of new volunteers regarding health and safety procedures.
• Responsible to report any serious health and safety infractions or problems in accordance with policies to the Community and Family Services Team Lead.
• Ensure workspaces are cleaned regularly according to acceptable health standards.
• Report any safety hazards, maintenance problems, equipment, or supply needs to the Community and Family Services Team Lead.
Administration and Finance
• Maintain accurate records and statistics and communicate them to the Community and Family Services Team Lead.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other position-related duties as required.
CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
Governance Boards and Councils: None.
Internal: Corps Officer(s), Community & Family Services Team Lead, volunteers, staff, congregation members.
External: Neighborhood Families and community partners
FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:
• Minor level of material responsibility (supplies pick up, proper usage and safekeeping of food while preparing bagged lunches, etc.).
• May be authorized to spend, disburse, or collect small amounts of cash (pay for supplies, etc.)
This position reports directly to the Community and Family Services Team Lead.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• This is a temporary full-time position based on 37.5 hours per week.
• Normal hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes a½ hour unpaid meal break.
• Regular location of work is at: 38 Bateman Crescent, Saskatoon, SK
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 30 pounds.
• Working environment is both indoors and outdoors.
• Working conditions may from time to time and involve exposure to disagreeable weather conditions.
• This job requires reaching, bending, and stooping frequently, working in a standing position for extended periods of time.
• Interacting with children and youth.

This is funded through Canada Summer Jobs and therefore applicants must meet the hiring criteria for this program.
This is a temporary seasonal position.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $15.69 to $19.62 with a maximum of $23.54.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
