The Opportunity

The Food and Nutrition Manager will oversee the management and organization of the Food and Nutrition Services Department to provide high-quality food and nutritional services to the home, with an emphasis on the individual needs and wants of the residents.

What Is In It For You
  • Complete Resident Nutritional Assessments, including quarterly assessments, MDS, RAPs where implemented, QI’s, and follow-up documentation and intervention as needed. In the absence of the Registered Dietitian, it will be the responsibility of the Food and Nutrition Manager to complete assessments for residents at high nutritional risk.
  • Support Resident and Family Council and chair the Food Committee.
  • Manage, implement, communicate, and support residents and/or families in involvement and participation in determining appropriate nutritional care needs.
  • Visit residents during mealtimes to monitor acceptability of food.
What You Will Need
  • A degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Culinary Arts, Dietary Guidance, or Planning.
  • Must be an active Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or a Registered Dietitian.
  • Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Previous professional experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of clinical documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid knowledge of basic therapeutic nutrition as it relates to the needs of the Long-Term Care population.
