Job summary

Shah Trading Company in Scarborough, ON is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment across our food processing and packaging lines. You will work in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment, perform preventative maintenance, and support senior mechanics while following all food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Certification or apprenticeship as a millwright or working towards completion.
• 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in food processing.
• Valid Millwright (433A) license is an asset but not required.
• Experience with dry packaging and can processing machines is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in an industrial setting.
• Physical requirements: ability to lift, stand for long periods, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Install, align, and calibrate machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures in food processing and packaging equipment.
• Assist in modifying or upgrading existing machinery to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety procedures.
• Support senior mechanics and technicians as needed.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards in all maintenance tasks.
