Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Custodial Worker in Markham, ON to maintain a clean, safe production environment in a food manufacturing facility. The role covers cleaning floors, lunchrooms, washrooms, and exterior areas, with regular use of cleaning chemicals and equipment and adherence to sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning tasks, PPE restocking, and reporting safety or equipment issues. The position operates on-site with first and second shifts, offering hourly compensation

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of custodial/janitorial/industrial cleaning experience.
• Experience in grood manufacturing, GMP-regulated environment.
• Knowledge of GMP and sanitation/food safety procedures.
• Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions and SOPs.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout shifts.
• Comfort working around wet floors and cleaning chemicals while following safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and clean production floors to maintain a sanitary workspace.
• Wash bins and equipment with approved cleaning solutions and proper contact time.
• Report equipment issues and safety hazards to supervision.
• Restock PPE stations before and after each shift.
• Empty trash bins throughout plant, warehouses, and common areas.
• Sweep warehouse floors, including under racks and hard-to-reach areas.
• Maintain sanitation cage and respond to urgent sanitation requests.
• Clean offices and lunchrooms, including high-touch surface sanitation.
• Disinfect washrooms and sanitize sinks and fixtures.
• Wash kitchen countertops and shared appliances in lunchrooms/break areas.
• Follow SOPs related to sanitation, food safety, and housekeeping.
• Communicate task status and supply needs with supervisors.
