Job summary

State & Main Kitchen and Bar in Hamilton, Ontario is hiring a Food Expeditor to be the essential link between the kitchen and service teams. You will ensure every plate is accurate, well-presented, and dispatched promptly, coordinating with servers and runners to maintain a five-star dining experience.

In this fast-paced role you will manage ticket flow, double-check special requests, assist with garnishing and light running, and help keep the expo line clean and organized.

Qualifications

• Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure.
• Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is an asset.
• Great communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

• Act as the central communicator between the kitchen and service teams.
• Ensure all food leaving the kitchen is accurate, well-presented, and timely.
• Double-check tickets and plating to confirm special requests and modifications are followed.
• Manage ticket flow and prioritize outgoing dishes to maintain a smooth service pace.
• Communicate with servers and runners to ensure guests receive their orders correctly and promptly.
• Assist with garnishing, tray setups, and light food running as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized expo line.
• Help troubleshoot timing or order issues during service.
