Overview

Food & Beverage Supervisor – Maternity Leave coverage at Hilton Vancouver Downtown Hotel. This full-time contract/temporary role oversees Food & Beverage operations during a maternity leave period, reporting to hotel leadership and upholding Hilton Brand Standards.

About Us: At the Hilton Vancouver Downtown Hotel, we are committed to delivering exceptional experiences to our guests. Our Food & Beverage team supports dining moments across Henricks All Day Dining Restaurant, In-Room Dining, and Banquets. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead our team during the maternity leave coverage period.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Build and maintain a strong team environment; coach, train, and develop Food & Beverage team members; provide regular feedback; motivate and lead the team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations of Hendricks All Day Dining Restaurant, In-Room Dining, and Banquets; welcome guests and assist with seating arrangements; plan layout and logistics of events; manage setup of events including buffet stations, bar setups, meeting rooms, and plated dinners; run the floor and coordinate service; liaise with kitchen, service staff, and onsite contacts; monitor inventory; ensure sanitation, storage, safety, and security; maintain neat facilities and adherence to Hilton Brand Standards; complete logbooks and checklists; assist with opening and closing duties; supervise breakfast buffet setup; ensure banquet setups for following day; assist in month-end inventory; program MICROS POS for menu changes; receive and distribute deliveries; handle keg and equipment lifting up to specified weights; familiarity with restaurant equipment and draught beer systems.
  • Guest Service: Possess comprehensive knowledge of the Food & Beverage menu; explain items to guests; address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally; participate in promotions and incentives; collaborate with Front Office and Duty Managers as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of operational experience in Food & Beverage within a hotel or high-quality restaurant.
  • Experience supervising staff and delegating tasks; banquet setup experience essential.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills; excellent English communication (spoken and written).
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency with MICROS POS or similar.
  • Ability to foster respectful working relationships; detail-oriented with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit for tasks such as moving and lifting furniture, standing long periods; ability to lift 30–50 lbs and move full beer kegs and CO2 tanks up to 150 lbs.
  • Serving It Right Certification; Food Safe Certification.
  • Flexible and outgoing personality; open-minded and adaptable to changing requirements, including long hours, irregular shifts, weekends, and holidays; knowledge of the local area is an asset.
Employment Details

Employment Status: Full-Time Contract Position (Maternity Leave Coverage) – starting October 2025; duration expected to extend up to September 2026, subject to operational needs.

Salary: 56,000 - 58,500 per year.
