The Role:

You will have the opportunity to be a part of a very special team for Live Nation’s Canadian venue, HISTORY. A state-of-the-art venue, with a capacity of up to 2,500 that hosts over 180 concerts and private events annually. YOU will play a big role in continuing to make this venue a Toronto staple.

This role reports directly into HISTORY’s Manager of Food and Beverage while overseeing 50+ F&B staff, aiding in conflict resolution, fulfilling the on-the-fly needs of both guests and employees, maximizing efficiency and profitability, all while learning and operating the Point of Sale and inventory management systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Live and breathe HISTORY’s & Live Nation’s hospitality and service standards.
  • Ability to run the venue floor, pivot and support staff as needed.
  • Maximize guest satisfaction and venue profitability by ensuring that Food & Beverage services, outlets and operations are functioning in the most optimal manner possible.
  • Maintain and strengthen F&B Staff service standards, engagement and training programs and various checklists and procedures.
  • Support new hire onboarding and training, setting up new team members for ultimate success.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen, Bar and lead receiver to ensure product knowledge, quality, consistency and speed of service standards are met.
  • Assist Lead Receiver on placing appropriate orders for venue and maintain par levels.
  • Support private event curation, execution and overall needs.
  • Adhere to provincial regulated Health & Safety guidelines as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) as well as Live Nation’s global standards by liaising with internal and external stakeholders to promote a clean and safe work environment, using daily checklists.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3+ years’ experience in food & beverage operations with a proven track record of leading a professional, efficient, high quality, service-oriented operation in a fast paced and demanding environment.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills.
  • Must have supervisory, coaching and staff development experience.
  • Must have a strong business aptitude.
  • Must be Smart Serve Certified and at least 19 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of various spirits, beers, wines and champagnes. Extra points for mixology/cocktail experience.
  • Experience using point of sales and inventory systems; Square & Yellow Dog experience an asset, but not required.
  • Have an incredible ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-volume environment while maintaining first-in-class hospitality and food & beverage experience.
  • Strong communication skills, including listening skills and ability to communicate with guests and respond to inquiries.
  • You’ve found the balance of being respectful and professional whilst being fun and jovial in a work environment.
  • A passion for live events and desire to ensure every Fan's experience is exceptional!

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks often throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
