Food & Beverage Supervisor (Evening)

We are currently hiring for a Food & Beverage Supervisor (Evening) to provide evening supervision at our Skal Restaurant in the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre in Thunder Bay, ON. The Food & Beverage Supervisor is a detail-oriented leader focused on creating outstanding guest experiences and delivering exceptional service in our Food & Beverage Outlets and Banquets as needed.

This role involves working closely with the Food & Beverage team to ensure a successful guest experience. The supervisor leads the team in executing service while maintaining high standards of quality and service. We seek an energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented leader with a passion for exceeding guest expectations. The supervisor should inspire and lead by example, fostering a motivated and committed team. This position also involves supervising F&B operations, including outlets and banquets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized and exceptional guest service at all times.
  • Manage and coordinate the Skal restaurant team members.
  • Build relationships with hotel guests, corporate clients, and travelers, and promote hotel outlets.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure service standards are met.
  • Assist with Banquets as needed.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure meeting and event details are executed properly.
  • Maintain inventories and ensure par levels are met.
  • Ensure team adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Facilitate staff meetings and communication.
  • Maximize seating occupancy and service quality.
  • Coach and motivate team members daily.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Food & Beverage, Hospitality, or Culinary fields preferred.
  • Experience with menu costing and food & beverage cost controls.
  • Established relationships with local suppliers are an asset.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • Proven ability in menu and service design.
  • Hands-on leadership style focused on training and development.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and focus on fiscal results.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Ability to work well with all departments.
