Food & Beverage Supervisor (Evening)

We are currently hiring for a Food & Beverage Supervisor (Evening) to provide evening supervision at our Skal Restaurant located in the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre in Thunder Bay, ON. The Food & Beverage Supervisor is a detail-oriented leader focused on delivering outstanding guest experiences and exceptional service across our Food & Beverage outlets and banquets as required. This role involves working closely with the Food and Beverage team to ensure a successful guest experience. The Supervisor leads the team in executing service while maintaining high standards of quality and service. We seek an energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented leader with a passion for exceeding guest expectations. The Supervisor models Silver Hotel Group's values, provides hands-on leadership, and contributes to efficient restaurant operations to ensure guest satisfaction. This position supervises F&B operations, including outlets and banquets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized, exceptional guest service at all times.
  • Direct, delegate, and coordinate the Skal restaurant team members.
  • Build relationships with hotel guests, corporate clients, and travelers, and promote all hotel outlets.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure service standards are met.
  • Assist with banquet services as needed.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure meeting and event details are executed flawlessly.
  • Maintain inventories, manage par levels, and handle requisitions.
  • Ensure team adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Facilitate meetings with staff and management.
  • Maximize seating occupancy and cover counts while maintaining high service quality.
  • Coach, motivate, and assist team members daily.
  • Ensure staff compliance with hotel policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Food & Beverage, Hospitality, or Culinary fields preferred.
  • Experience with menu costing and food & beverage cost controls.
  • Established relationships with local suppliers are an asset.
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Proven ability in menu and service design.
  • Hands-on leadership style focused on team development and guest service excellence.
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
