Job summary

Lora Bay in Thornbury, Ontario, is hiring friendly, guest-focused servers for our Food & Beverage team. Full-time positions are available and require working indoors and outdoors across seasons.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, presenting menus, taking orders, upselling beverages, delivering attentive service, and keeping the dining area clean and well set. Prior casual fine dining experience is helpful; 18+ years old, with serving knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in casual fine dining is an asset.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Food handling certification is an asset but not required.
• First Aid/CPR certification is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, present menus, inform guests of any specials, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverage items.
• Take food and beverage orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff via the POS system, including modifications.
• Upsell wine and beverages to complement food selections.
• Drive a golf beverage cart around the course and sell drinks, alcohol, and snacks.
• Communicate course conditions with the pro shop.
• Serve all food and beverage orders with proper etiquette.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and report issues to management/chef.
• Maintain dining room setup, clear and reset as needed during shifts.
• Address guest complaints professionally and resolve them.

Lora Bay is seeking friendly and guest-focusedServers to join our Food & Beverage team in Thornbury.

Our Servers play an important role in creating a welcoming dining experience for our members and guests by delivering attentive service and ensuring every visit is enjoyable.

Full-time positions are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests, present menus, inform guests of any specials, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverage items
• Take food and beverage orders and accurately relay them to kitchen and bar staff via the POS system in a timely fashion, accurately and effectively communicating any modifications if required
• Upsell wine and beverage items to complement food selections
• Drive a golf beverage cart around the course and sell drinks, alcohol, and snacks
• Communicate course conditions and/or course issues with the pro shop
• Serve all food and beverage orders efficiently using proper service etiquette
• Ensure guest satisfaction and report any problems or concerns to the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Chef
• Ensure that the dining room area is properly set, cleared, cleaned, and re-set throughout the entire shift, including completion of side duties
• Ensure guest complaints are resolved in a professional way
• Other duties as assigned

Work Arrangement

• Working both indoors and outdoors during spring, summer, and fall in areas, including on the covered patio, dining room and conference rooms
• Moving furniture when preparing special arrangements.
• Walking, bending, carrying glassware, plates, glass racks, large platters, and chafing dishes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Long periods of standing on your feet
• Must be willing to work multiple shifts including morning, afternoon, evenings, weekends and holidays

Compensation

• Pay: $17.60 per hour
