The Mallard Lounge - Outlet Manager

Salary Range:$78,000 - $85,000 gross annually, based on previous experience and education

Job Duties Include:

  • Workclosely with the Executive Chef to execute a smooth and flawless operation
  • Ensuring optimal performanceby being a consistent presence on the floor to support andlead the team to deliverservice excellence.
  • Direct, as well as participate in the training and coaching of new and existing team members.
  • Driverevenueand profit through the development andimplementation ofstrategies, practices and promotions
  • Drive the restaurant budgeting and forecasting process while adhering to the budgetary guidelines established for the outlet (labor productivity, revenue and expenses).
  • Demonstrate, and hold the team accountable to, the highest standards of internal and external customer service at all times.
  • Manage the beverage inventory,ensuring cost controls are in place.
  • Demonstrate a talent-based approach to recruitment, including creating, evaluating and executing effective recruitment and retention strategies for the department.
  • Foster and maintain high colleague engagement, performance and team spirit within the department.
  • Follow up on guest complaints and ensure appropriate internal follow up, including implementing training resolutions and effective performance management where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ management experience as a department head in Food & Beverage
  • Demonstrated passion for the Food and Beverage industryand knowledge of current trends
  • Demonstrated ability to driverevenues andprofit,without sacrificingcolleague and customer experiences
  • Proven ability in menu design, offerings, and effective marketing plans
  • Product knowledge, including a thorough working knowledge of wines, liqueurs and other beverages. Sommelier designation is an asset.
  • Thorough working knowledge of financial reporting structures (budgets, labor, productivity, revenue, and expenses)
  • Ability to work effectively with the following programs, Microsoft Office Suite, Open Table, Avero Slingshot, Opera, Micros/Silverware, and Revinate
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel restaurant is an asset
