Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Restaurant. Tasks: Must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages. Address customers' complaints or concerns. Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques or room billings. Describe menu items including daily specials for customers. Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations. Advise on menu selections. Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs. Order and maintain inventory of wines and wine glassware. Serve food and beverages. Take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff. Train staff. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Provide customer service. Advise on wine selection. Store beverage and food products. Order bar stock and maintain inventory and control of bar stock. Provide recommendations on drink selections. Collect cash, credit/debit cards or other payment for beverages. Clean draft beer system. Clean bar area and wash glassware. Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons. Prepare mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Work under pressure. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Organized. Team player. Experience: Experience an asset.
