ROLE PROFILE: HOST
Reports To:
- FOH Manager
- General Manager
Duties and Responsibilities- Greet all guests with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and walk-ins efficiently using the booking system
- Maintain a calm and welcoming atmosphere at the entrance and throughout the guest experience
- Communicate wait times clearly and accurately to guests
- Monitor and manage floor flow, guest seating, and table turnover to maximize efficiency
- Work closely with servers and management to ensure smooth service and timely seating
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with professionalism and grace
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand, entrance, and front-of-house areas
- Support coat check and other guest services when needed
- Comply with Arcana policies, procedures, and service standards
Qualifications & Qualities- Minimum 1–2 years experience in a host or guest-facing role (hospitality background preferred)
- A warm, friendly, and confident personality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage busy guest flow with ease
- Well-groomed, professional appearance and demeanor
- Comfortable working with reservation and POS systems
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late nights
Working Conditions- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Exposure to varied weather conditions at the door or coat check
- May be required to lift and carry items up to 15 lbs
- Regular use of phones, tablets, and reservation systems
