Safe Software is hiring a Software Development Manager in Surrey, BC. You will lead a full-stack engineering team, coach talent, and partner with Product and UX to align technical direction with business goals.

You’ll champion delivery, build a collaborative culture, and drive continuous improvement while supporting growth and AI-enabled practices. This hybrid role emphasizes people leadership and cross-functional partnership.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software development, including 3+ years leading software teams.
• Solid understanding of Agile development practices and software system design.
• Experience with Java, TypeScript, C++ or Python.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to support team health and build inclusive, high-performing teams.
• Openness to adopting AI tools within a development team.
• Demonstrated track record of shipping products.

Responsibilities

• Lead coaching, feedback and professional development for your team.
• Collaborate with Product, UX and stakeholders to define and prioritize work.
• Oversee technical delivery and manage project flow and risks.
• Support architecture and design discussions with team input.
• Build an inclusive team culture with shared ownership.
